Hey, I am moving to Mexico in a week and read in a book that you could use a faucet water filter, much like Pur or Brita instead of having to buy the 5 gallon jugs of water. I was wondering if anyone has done this, does it work, and will Pur or Brita work?

Why, what's wrong with the Mexican water? People have been drinking it for ages, and don't feel any side effects.

There can be various microbs in the water which aren't inherently dangerous... but if your body is not used to them will cause significant distress until it does get used to them....

So someone who has lived in an area their whole life can drink the water with impunity... and when you arrive from far away... puke and get the runs.

I think you will also find it depends on where you are in Mexico as to the drinkablity of the water by the locals.

I have heard that mexican water is terriable and that it cant be drank. I heard that it gives you bad stomach pains and causes vomit and also may cause serious problems.
