How long to get a work permit after getting married? My husband was brought from mexico as a baby only a few months old 23 years ago. So he is not here with a visa. We recently got married and we were wondering how long would it take to get a work permit. We are going to talk to an immigration lawyer soon but just asking to have an idea what to expect. Ok first he is not a criminal for something he had no control over. And for your information. I know someone with the exact situation that was able to fix. I am not worried about him getting deported or going to jail. Thats just you exaggerating to scare us. Sorry not working.
