The best info yet.... Immigration to Mexico Immigration, MexicoDianaR from USA - Sat Jun 14 19:06:21 2008
I found this great page on moving to Mexico. It breaks down the process into steps, just like planning a wedding. It starts at 90 days before your moving date.I am amazed at the time devoted to cleaning items, like linens and equipment, during the last few weeks. Is this a requirement? Are your things inspected before they can be forwarded to your new address in Mexico? Trackbacks

-->> Real Estate Online Sites <<--That is a good idea to find the most over priced properties! The way to learn the real estate market is to STAY OFFLINE. Read the newspapers, talk to people in the community, spend some time there! I think the bit about cleaning, is so that the stuff left behind in your house is clean. I would also recommend moving with what you can take in a couple suitcases... buy what you need at your new home. That will help your shift into the new culture and not just bring your old one with you.

You might want to take with you just the basic stuff, and the stuff you won't want to leave home. The rest can be bought.

Too many people take their old life with them when they move. Sell everything and buy local clothes and equipment when you get where you're going. Bank what you don't take with you. Becoming part of the local culture should be the goal, not bringing yours with you IMO. That's the fasted and easiest way to learn the local language and traditions.

George, I wasn't looking for real estate deals, just the nuts and bolts of getting ready to move, and then moving.I agree that it is probably best to sell your old life off and begin a fresh life in the new culture, though!

I would not htink that would be necessary though. Just because one moves does not mean they are wanting to start a brand new life just a new chapter in it. I am curious why there is such detail required to cleaning your items though that seems a bit odd.

The cleaning may address the concern over the transportation of new microbes into a new country, ill prepared to deal with them.
