IT seems that Mexico is actually keeping its eyes open for these guys, but it might not be long before much of the profit associated with marijuana traffic is severely cut.I heard there is a bill that, if passed, will allow possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, for adults. This will effectively make marijuana legal, depending on the state's laws. California is already considering a bill that legalizes marijuana along the same guidelines and many cities are choosing to place the enforcement of marijuana laws at the bottom of local law enforcement's priority list. Do you think this particular bust was just a matter of luck for Mexican Federales, or do you think they were actively hunting this fellow down?

He's been running since his 2001 escape from a maximum security prison.!? I think they've either been hunting him or he's been helping the authorities and his "escape" was a way to get him back into circulation for a while to make him more useful before he disappears for good.

Does the Bill only states small possession is legal then about plant on your background. Why don't they just allow cigarette companies to use this weed on the premium sticks, I think weed poppers would be delighted to it.

but like any other drug that is either secretly or openly exposed out there, there would always be abuse of it. The legalization of such easily abused materials like Marijuana will have serious implications and repercussions to the welfare of the society and a country's citizen. How can one control the addiction that is caused by cigarettes with the legalization of a more addicting material like Marijuana. Legalization is not the answer.

And keeping it illegal has major repercussions on the safety and welfare of society.Look at Amsterdam and the Netherlands... they seem to have faired better with it generally available than Mexico/USA with it illegal and managed by violent gangs.

Boy! What a thread! The legalization of marijuana is one of the most seriously discussed items world-wide right now. The simple fact is that we are loosing the drug war. The drug market is overwhelming and there is no way that law enforcement can win that war. It is bleeding us to death, but there are complete economies in the world that are based on money laundering and Drug use. Simple fact. Anyone deny it? Remember the Prohibition? The tragedy it provoked in the U.S. until it was repealed? Is not the same happening again. The drug lords have the power they do because drugs are a forbidden commodity. If they are legalized, then, like booze and cigarettes, it will be up to each one of us if we want to stay alive or die in the gutter somewhere from an O.D. Simple as that! • Page 1 (Original Post) •
