Looking for current information on Mexican dating customs and behavior with specific regard to Mexican men dating American women long distance. Met a wonderful man in Puerta Vallarta in April, said he was serious about me, would "wait" for me until I can return again, he never felt this way before, is not a player, very quiet, sweet, sincere...wondering if I'm just kidding myself. We have been in touch over the phone several times. I like him very much, am willing to travel to PV to see him...some advice would be great. Unchartered territory. Am not really looking to get my heart broken. Gracias.

I think it is better if you go and meet him again in Puerta Vallarta or let him visit you in your place to make sure that the feeling between you guys is mutual. No offense but are you sure that he is honest with what he is saying to you? I mean, you are just communicating by phone. It is so easy to exchange "I love you" and we have to be sure if his sincere with his words. Better see him and talk to him about your feelings.

I agree with Mollie, it is better if you go visit him to clarify things up between you guys. Or the other way around would be best considered as well. As of my opinion, you would know if that person is sincere about his feelings and what he is saying if you look him in the eye. And besides it is romantic and sweet. Just think of you guys meeting, isn't it exciting?
