People pass recipes around all the time, so they get changed in the process. I am sure this also happens when fast food corporations create ethnically based dishes for public consumption. Are there huge differences between what places like Taco Bell pass off as Mexican food, and what the food is like in Mexico?

Definitely. That happens everywhere, not just Mexico. You can't really stop it, it comes with globalization

I see it a lot. You really should try an authentic restaurant and then your Taco Bell and look at the differences it may amaze you.

What are the most obvious differences between the food served in restaurants or fast food places in the USA and home cooked and/or native preparation?

I think putting "Fast food" places in a comparison would be a joke. A nice comparison would be the difference between independent Mexican restaurants in the USA and traditional Mexican cooking. • Page 1 (Original Post) •
