| Does your country, I mean Mexico do not have local car dealers? If I were you I would buy a car in Mexico, there would be no more processing and fees to consider like taxes and stuffs like that. Aside from that, you will have to consider some travel papers for your cars transport as well as traveling fees. I just felt that it would be much better for you to just buy a car in Mexico. if you want, you can buy T-shirt for souvenirs from Texas instead.. |

| Of course it would be cheaper to buy a car in Mexico but there seems to be something pushing you towards importing it to your country. Whatever it is, then you alone can expalin it. There would be many car dealers but the immediate worry is how much money and time you will spend at the customs..you may end up spending a lot more than you think. If it is worth it, give it a try. |
| Importing a car to Mexico is nothing new at all. Most people do it through a customs broker. That is as far as getting your car to Mexico is concerned. I guess you will spend some good amount of money in such a kind of broker, added to the other costs in terms of taxation and the whole process. I suggest you get in touch with someone in Mexico then weigh your options. |
| One thing that you should also consider is the insurance. If you are planning to buy a second hand car or running on a tight budget, I would still recommend you to go get one. Recently I've just watched a news on a flash flood which sank hundreds of brand new cars. You will never know when will a calamity will strike so you should be prepare for the worst case scenario. |

im going to mexico with my boyfriend we plan on taking his truck and we want to legalize it. what i want to know is does it have to be in my name for me to cross it to be able to legalize? he doesnt have a visa to be in the USA. or do you know if there is a place in the border towns on the usa side to do the paper work to legalize it instead of crossing into mexico first and then having to drive back to usa to be able to legalize the truck? |
